1600 S.F. basement finish with electric floor heat and WiFi-controlled thermostat, 3″ thick reclaimed wood countertops with metal riveted edges, reclaimed wood fireplace surround, and 1920s-era brick facade accent wall
Challenge(s) Presented:
Short construction schedule, custom architectural metal finishes, WiFi-controlled floor heating thermostats to be controlled from cell phone, custom reclaimed countertops design, and Pinterest-inspired wall finishes throughout.
Challenge Resolution:
Sourced suppliers for the custom finishes that would allow it to work with the stringent short construction schedule. Utilized a custom architectural metal fabrication shop to achieve the metal riveted-edge look on the countertops while keeping within the allowed budget. Sourced a WiFi-controlled thermostat that worked with the electric floor heating system (in conjunction with the engineered wood flooring heating limits) and allowed the homeowner to turn on the system remotely from her cell phone.
